i've always found with my self portraiture that parts are much more revealing, surprising than the whole. seeing myself in new ways is important for me, its the way i try to see the world-different angles, different planes, different heights, distances. so often too, my body feels so alien to me--like what are these parts anyway. so seeing them in different ways helps me relate to this strange body i live in.
